Well, I have just be hit with a MAJOR reality check. I'm 16 years old, have no idea about college, if I want to go, or anything I want to do in my life. It seems that there are only a few things that interest me now; music, guitar, girls, Xbox, YGO (not really), the universe, life, some computer stuff, and some other minor things.
Please discuss if you have gone or are going through this. Also, if you have everything planned out on what college you will attend and what you will be doing in the future (hopefully) then contribute to the discussion.

i went thru that probably once a year since 15 or 16... you will think that everyone has their future planned except you, but in reality, we all are/were in the same boat. i myself didnt even look into colleges until after my junior year of highschool. but time unfolds and things really do work themselves out :D .
oh, and lots of times, kids go to college for something and then decide to do something else with their lives. nothing is nearly as permanent as they make it seem in highschool.

Yeah, but I am a junior right now.........................................
I know people change their career choices all the time.

Yeah, that's a pretty common state. I've been in it for the last four years. My advice is to just find something to do. It doesn't matter if you think you'll like it or if you turn out to actually like it. Just start doing something soon after you get out of highschool.

i'm feeling like that right now... man, i'm almost done with my freshman year in college and i still don't know what i'm gonna do in life. i still feel like a kid who wants to keep playing games and keeping myself entertained. i feel like i'm in a confused state cause of all the decisions i still have to make...

It happins to poeple just depends on how much a person thinks about other things other than the present or past.If you can keep going through school once your out of high school try and go right into collage or training .Its Best usually just to get it over and through with instead of doing something crappy for a few yeras then go and try and get back into school.

Well, yeah, I think everyone goes through something like that at least once in their life........and most of the time, it's around the same age.
I did probably 2-3 years ago......when I realised I don't just want to smoke weed and play video games all day.
That was beginning of high school, and now I'm just waiting on letters from some colleges so I can pursue my journalism career.

Don't worry about the college stuff, I didn't have any idea of what I wanted to do until 18. Heck, I'm in uni now and still don't have set plans for what to do after I graduate.
The good thing about this age is that there's a load of options and opportunities for you to change your mind.
On the academic side of things, if you're unsure about a particular path to go after, stick with what you're good at and go from there.

Yeah, that's what I intend to do. I don't know what I want to major in in college, but I am good at math and science so I'll stick with those.

I actually went through things like that. I found out that I was interested in helping people and helping them resolve their problems. I guess my parents influenced me more that I thought they did. My Mom being a civil worker, and my Dad working with the County, I actually picked up thing from their profession. So now I'm majoring in Psychology with a minor in civil studies and communication. It's little things like that that can affect you and your decisions.
So, just find something your good at and go with it. Eventually, it'll work out in the end.
