I think that it would be cool to have parralell rares I have like 4 japanese cards but if you play and collecting is minor theres absolutely no reason. :confused:

We play OCG because it gets us ready for those cards not released.

Nah we just like beating people withthe broken cards still unreleased in the TCG im casual play :D

Im taking it to get into college. Its a weighted class, Gives me ahead start on college credit too. besides it beats taking other language classes at my high school. :D

B/c I started playing the OCG BEFORE the TCG came over to the U.S..And the OCG is MUCH better.

Theres a couple of reasons:
Less n00bs,
Cheaper,
Much more available cards,
No stupid card picture edits,
No stupid card name changes,
Cards look nicer,
Easy to find translations,
Card sets are released before everywhere else.....

I could go on, the list is endless.

OCG is better, the only reason I play the TCG is because everybody in my area plays the TCG and because there is no place nearby that sells cards from the OCG. I bet people in my area don't even know what the OCG is...

w/o the OCG then we would not be very good at the game in anyway. Then any OCG could cream us really fast with cards that aint even out in the US yet or images that have not been edited to pwn the game. Since we still have the OCG part of the pojo forums then we have at least a counter attack plan against those OCG players.

Why?

I'd think this is a rather easy question to answer;

It is fun.... Over here in the UK (and I'm pretty sure in the US) the themes of the decks are not that large... Over in the OCG there is a wider variation of cards...

It is fun to play where you can't be 100% sure of every card in the opponents Deck... I play it over the English game even though I know I've got next to no chance of finding anyone to duel with them.... Why because it is nice to see other decks have a chance...

Over here it is Chaos or Warrior (Zombie maybe soon) over in Japan you have Exodia/Chaos/Spellcaster/Warrior/Zombie and that is just to name a few.

But there is more vriation in the game and whether we like it or not, the Asians are stronger players then most Brits and Americans/Candians. So the game is harder, there is more cards and more variation...

That and it is fun.

well my favarate card in yugioh (blast shere/time bomb) is in japan and not here so its cool to have! plus they have the collest meta sense they have more cards than us...also its good to know and understand cards over there b4 they cross shores over here! thats why!

It's so sad that many tournament players don't agree with that.

The only reason at all, really, is because Japanese cards are not tourney- legal worldwide, and most can't read Japanese.

Other than that, there is no logic as to why people prefer TCG to OCG. The OCG has zero edits, a better feel to them (commons are all glossy!), and (maybe) a higher chance of getting good cards.

Maybe 'why not?' is a question for non-competative players. It would be pointless to play TCG in my area because there are no tournaments for either so why choose the inferior TCG over the OCG?

The OCG is way cool.For a start the structuire decks pwn.Period.
Plus you can bust youyr opponenet up woth your Magician of Black Chaos or Blue Eyes Ultimate dragon and other anticipated cards.
It would be cooler if Osiris,Obelisk and Ra had their effects printed in Japanese though.Can you imagine pulling them all out onto the field for a devestating match win?
