Dragonball Z coming back to Toonami in May

Over at DragonballZ.com They are reporting that DBZ will start airing the Sayian saga in may on Toonami.

I'd prefer the original, I like the voices better. Funi people just dont sound right in the dub. Especially Piccolo and Vegeta.

Well no joke.......... a similer thing happened to me a while ago,I dreamt I was out of cheese to make my school lunches with, and I found some in the back of the drawer.......The EXACT same thing happened to me the next morning!! Im serious!!!! :eek: U'll never believe me..............

You people confuse the hell out of me....

The version that will be airing will be voiced by the funimation cast, not the previous ocean group cast from the pioneer version, and will not be edited in the same manner as the pioneer version. Much footage was pretty much meaninglessly taken out of that version and will be included in this new funimation release. I'm going to guess that they will run through all the sagas but I could be wrong, maybe just the saiyan saga.

I also have the feeling that once they release the "new dub" on DVD, you'll get the option of chaning it to the Japanese soundtrack, which means that they CAN'T edit anything. Except for when they show it on TV, which in that case, the worst they'll do is just "clean up" blood and nip tuck some scenes for time sake. THey won't do anything rash like cut out every single existence of Lunch.....

Anyway, as much as I love Ian James Corlett's work, I don;t care for his Goku. I definetely like the new Goku better (I forgot his name... Sean something...).

The new Goku puts more emoton into it. The Pioneer version was DBZ equivlent of Kagome.

It's going to be interesting the see the old episodes with the Funi voices. Of course, I will definitely miss the old ones. Especially the old Vegeta and the old Krillin. I loved the way that Vegeta sounded when he was very angry, like after getting slashed from behind by Yajirobe ;)

The only problem I have with Funi's voices is that pretty much every person has like 3+ characters to voice for. Especially Chris Sabat, who does Vegeta, Piccolo, Kami, and Popo (I think) just to name a few.

Sean's Goku annoys me sometimes...he makes him sound like such a moron at times imo. (though i find him more tolerable when Goku's in his serious mode) infact, i can remember initionally vaguely disliking Goku at one point becuz of watching the Funimation dubbed eps (same with Sonny Straight's Krillin).

Anyways, i am kinda looking foward in a way to seeing this new dub.

Sean's Gokuh annoys me all the time. The funimation voice actors don't have the talent the Ocean group did and it doesn't help that Chris Sabat is doing the voices of three major characters in the show....

But Sonny Straight Mel? Hey, Kuririn had weird scripting I'll admit but Sonny is actually a good voice actor. He's one of the only people who actually makes me think the dub is funny once in a while.

Honestly though, I'm looking forward to what will be a much more well structured and less confusing version for this dub.

It's not just the scripting...i also the voice he gave him that i hate. i just don't like it...i think he made him sound like constipated all the time. and i think i read somewhere Sonny Straight himself stated that he hated it aswell.
