Cargo EX- How come it is rarely used?

I came back from the CC 4-1 with my so called "original" Gard/RK9 deck. But I was thinking how boring it was, so I was looking through my cards and noticed Magcargo EX. I'm really surprised how no one has really thought of making a deck with him, I know that there is no card like Entei in this format, but still its decent. So here is my deck.

The strategy is simple, just get a cargo upfront while firestarting energy on to him every turn, ill probably be averaging 100 a turn with 3 blazikens out. I really need to help ym trainers, I've been out of the game for a while and have no idea whats good in dragon or aqua-magma, so help is needed there, thanks

i have a deck close to that and remiber blaziken's power only work's on benched pokemon but you have a good deck there i would try to put anthore switch in or the stadium that let's you reteat for one less and some moo-moo milk's but other than that try it out

I dont think people really "overlook" Marcargo EX. But why play that when you can play Rayquaza EX? Rayquaza is more powerful and fits well with Blaziken decks. Its just an overall better card anyway you look at it.

I think that Magcargo WOULD be being played more if not for Rayquaza.

or Ninetales. Blaze/tails is pretty popular.

I just got a couple packs hoping for a cargo EX but got none :( I got that stadium that lets fires retreat for one less so thats definitely going in, but as for rayquaza, i guess he is better since he only takes 2 energy, and it does 40 per energy, and hes a basic, but the only drawback is you have to play lightning, which doesnt really matter if you have decent draw, as for ninetales i have no idea what he does, ill go check,thanks for the replies :)

Well, by the next set Rayquaza ex will meet his match w/ Groudon and Kyogre ex, plus ex are getting hurt more and more with the new pokemon and trainers, Macargo is good because of his control to do damage while Ray just blasts the active away, but Magcargo is a stage 1 weak to water which isn't to good for an ex that has the same Hp as Ray. If anything you should use Magma's Aggron. His attack is the same as Magcargo's and he's not an ex and with the help of Maxie he can be played from your hand/discard pile as a basic. I just went to a Pre-release today and that card is very good, so is Aqua's Walrein. But as number_one_pokemon said to want lots of ways to retreat and heal with Big fire ex like that or if you use that Magma's Aggron or not. Either way good luck.

My prerelease is next saturday so hopefully I'll look for magmas aggron, if it has same attack and isnt ex it would be a good addition, except for the fact that 2 stage 2's in a deck would be kind of slow, thanks though, I'll look out for it

In this deck, you would want 4 Oracle to help out that first attack that Cargo has.

Let me work out a training system for you:
Total Trainers that we can use = 22
4 Oracle
3 TV Reporter
3 Oak's Research
3 Switch
3 Rare Candy
2 Professor Elm's Training Method
3 Potion
1 Towns Volunteers

Hopefully that can work for ya!
Try to put in at least 2 more Dunsparce.

About the oracle, hopefully the way i plan it, i won't have to use cargos first attack because I'll have around 4-6 energies by turn 3, but thanks anyway, oracle is still good with catty so I might add a few, and with my playtesting so far, dunsparce hasn't done a thing to help, so I'll keep it at one right now, thanks

Dont use Magcargo ex. Use Rayquaza ex or Ninetales like these people are saying.

Magcargo EX could work, but theres other pokemon like Rayquaza EX that does more damage.
