The Next Monarch

People have been saying that Granmarg is the last monarch, but I noticed something. Zaborg was released in 308, leaving a set gap between the next one, Mobius. Could it be that TLM is also a gap and that Cybernetic Revolution will contain the 5th monarch?

There has to be two more monarchs. DARK and WIND. They can't leave us hanging, unless the company goes backrupt.

I'm guessing that the WIND monarch is next. This is just guessing but LIGHT came first and I'd like DARK to come last for a nice book-end effect.

Yeah, based on the pattern I found, I also think that WIND must be next.

1. Zaborg - LIGHT signifies Creation/Beginning (BLS-EotB was Light)
2. Mobius - WATER
3. Thestalos - FIRE the elemental opposite of Water, the previous monarch
4. Granmarg - EARTH
5. ???? - WIND the elemental opposite of Earth, the previous monarch
6. ???? - DARK signifies Destruction/End (CED-EotE was Dark)

That's what I was thinking about lately. That's what makes new Monarch cards unlikely.

There's also the fact they might end up giving even more support to oversupported Sub-Types. Though a Bird monster for the Wind Monarch would be OK, it's unlikely (Though if there's Birdman and Harpy Ladies, it could be worked with...). The Dark Monarch could only fit in all overused Sub-Types like Undead, Demon and maybe Magic-User. Both could fit in Warriors (As the other Monarches have a design similar to a king, or a warrior.).

I can see a Wind Monarch, but not a Dark one. Both are unlikely if we follow the Sub-Type trend anyway.

Yes, but this is coming straight from the ancient Greeks ideas about the elements as I learned early on in Chem class. Fire and Water are opposites, as are Wind and Earth. I don't see those two as having any sort of relation in this case.

i heard there was going to be a 'hurricane monarch', but after a cursory check on google, i can't tell you what set, attributes, even what time of the year it might come out. also, the evidence for there being 2 more is greater, as you said, yamimarik, there is the gap pattern, then the fact we've had water, fire, earth and light, and finally the greek elements. purely speculation, but i'm guessing that the wind monarch will have a bounce effect, with any look along the lines of 'return 2 cards on the field to the top of the correct deck', and maybe the dark monarch will remove monsters from play?

in retrospect, i think that probably the dark monarch will have some kind of hand destruction effect, as this seems to be the only area left untouched.
and i relly hope there is a complete set of monarchs, as i have a real sweet alchemy deck in the pipeline...

Thestalos has the disruption effect. I'm inclined to agree with you on the guesses though, since Hurricane (Giant Trunade) is also a bounce card, and RFP is something that can relate to Dark.

I want it to be either Spellcaster, Zombie, or Fiend.

Spellcaster doesn't have many good 1-tribute monsters. Dark Magician Girl and Chaos Command Magician comes to mind.

Zombie relies on Special Summon, Monarchs work on Normal Summons. So you'd have to tribute for it to get its effect and Ryu Kokki works better for a Special Summon. Not gonna help much here.

Fiend's has an okay amount of 1-tributes. Ha Des, The End of Anubis, The big hammer guy that came with Teva, Lesser Fiend, and Summoned Skull. Okay, more tributes that the others but I love fiends.

This is all from a TCG standpoint, by the way.

An Spellcaster Dark Monarch would pwn. I'd add it on my Deck right away. Unfortunately, I don't think Spellcasters are much of a majestic or noble Type. A bit noble, but not that majestic. And that's all there's going to the Monarchy, hehe.

Still, if they ever do it, Spellcaster would be the best option. They lack support as far as one-Tribute Magicians go. Enough Warriors... I hope they don't make it a Warrior, if they ever make other Monarch.

For the Wind one, a Winged Beast could be worked with, as there have been humanoid birds made before. Maybe an Angel too, as it'd be kind of majestic, and Wind sort of fits Angels, almost as much as Light.

I currently have to use chaos command (only 1 tribute spellcaster that is useful other than magical marionette)
Chaos command basically only negates 4 cards in the meta, soldier, exiled force, GK assailant

Look at monarch patterns:

Zaborg - Light/Thunder
Mobius - Water/Aqua
Fire - Fire/Pyro
Grandmargu - Earth/Rock

When the emperors were released their sub-types each had relatively little support. Wind is likely to be a Bird (Winged-Beast). For Dark, I can't say, but I am quite confident that it will not be Warrior, Magician (Magic-User), or Undead (Zombie). As for Demons, I'm still on the fence. They have great monsters but little in the way of magic/trap support.

I would agree that the Wind Monarch would have a bounce effect like a supped-up CEDevice, and my best guess for type, it would be a Angel(Fairy). As for the Dark Monarch, it's effect would be a Change of Heart effect and be a Demon(Fiend). I trying to start an Alchemy deck myself, so UDE better hurry up and make those Monarchs. :D

Technically, Machines aren't living or sentient beings and the building materials used to make them are found in nature. But on the flip side, they are made by man so they themselves aren't natural.

That's what I was thinking orignally, Dark would make the most sense as a Spellcaster, Zombie, Fiend, or Warrior. But techinelly Konmi could do whatever they wanted. They could make the Dark Monarch a Dinosaur or Plant or maybe even a Beast-Warrior.

But if I had the divine power to pick, I'd go Dragon. Sure they have aquadate support, but I want a new Dragon to play with.

Hell Yea! That's be awesome. I can't remember where on Pojo, but I think I heard a rumor that Monarch support would be coming out soon. But I can't remember where I heard it or when it was mentioned it would be released.

And also that's a reason that we may still have a Monarch or two coming. Why have a set with Monarch support without two new Monarchs to play around with.

Yea no Monarchs do have a hand distruption effect do they. *Says this as he plays Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch* Oh wait....

And yea, Wind would HAVE to have a bounce effect and Dark will defintly have a remove from game effect. But both Mobius, Zaborg, and Granmand contributed to field control, I believe the Dark Monarch will give power to deck control (deck out). Maybe the effect would be something like your oppent would have to remove the top two cards from his or her deck from the game. I hope the Dark Monarch's name includes the word Void. Void's just such a cool Dark word.

But anyways, I've been doing alot of Monarch/Chaos distruption thinking today, and I figure the Void Monarch (as everybody should now call him, or maybe her, her would be cool) will have a remove from Graveyard effect. And Lord knows the game could use a efficent way to prevent Choas. (Notice I said prevent and not destroy, prevention is always better then destruction).

As cool as it would be to see a Metal and Wood Monarch, we can rule out that Konmi is using the Chinese elements because we've had a Thunder Monarch. And thunder (or lighting) is not a Chinese element.

HAH! I've owned more Tyrant Dragons than you...A total of 9!!!!!!!And I had a brainstorm...The Wind Monarch COULD be a Machine. It is probably going to be released in Cybernetic Revolutions, and since that set is mostly going to be Machines, they could use that and make the Wind monarch a Machine. It also makes sense by YamiMarik's elemental guideline; Zaborg=Thunder, Mobius=Aqua, Thestaltos=Pyro, Granmarg=Rock. So, the next monarch, by process of elimination, is going to be a Machine. But, if the Wind monarch IS a machine, what the Dark monarch would be is most likely Undead creature, by YamiMarik's elemental guide again. All of the monarch are going to have to be a type that is not qualified as being "alive," so the only other things that couldn't be alive are Machines(cause they're made of metal) and Zombies(not alive). Also, here's my NEW Dark monarch's effect:

It is probably going to be released in Cybernetic Revolutions, and since that set is mostly going to be Machines, they could use that and make the Wind monarch a Machine. It also makes sense by YamiMarik's elemental guideline; Zaborg=Thunder, Mobius=Aqua, Thestaltos=Pyro, Granmarg=Rock. So, the next monarch, by process of elimination, is going to be a Machine. But, if the Wind monarch IS a machine, what the Dark monarch would be is most likely Undead creature, by YamiMarik's elemental guide again. All of the monarch are going to have to be a type that is not qualified as being "alive," so the only other things that couldn't be alive are Machines(cause they're made of metal) and Zombies(not alive). Also, here's my NEW Dark monarch's effect:

Well, after much more brainstorming and a trip to my pothead friends house, I refined the Dark monarch. And it should seriously be a dragon. Dragon's have support, yes; almost an entire set. That still doesn't mean that they could possibly beat out any cookie-cutter Chaos control (take it from one who's tried :( ). I still think the Dark monarch is going to remove from game, either from the hand or the top of the deck. Either one is good. And dammit Jeez, I only posted some Tyrant Dragon's to make that guy go out and learn the beauty of Tyrant Dragon!!! :Snuggles misprint 1st ED Tyrant Dragon: It's my favorite card in the ENTIRE world, so I've spent $300 to get all that I could before!!!!! No. If it IS called the Void monarch, it'll remove-from-game. Void deals with nothingness, and remove-from-game has a void-kinda feel to it, so it's going to be a RFG monarch. First off, if they let a monster other then a Flip Effect deck out four or five cards it'd be extermly dangerous and probably restricted to one per deck. That'd be good and was my orignal idea when I started posting ideas for a Void Monrach on the Create-a-Care page back before this page even existed.

But the other day I started looking for a way to remove cards from the Graveyard to help slow down Chaos that wouldn't totally distrupt the flow of my deck. The card doesn't exist but then I figured out a big beat stick like the Void Monarch could get the trick done for me.

I think it was Orochi Validos who said he tried to use a Dragon deck to take out Chaos, with a Dragon-type Void Monarch that would be possible if it could remove like five or six cards from play. Just nail every single Light (or maybe Dark if your fearing Strike Ninja) and Chaos is damn near shut out.

Our petition is the blood that will be spilt when our Watapons counquer Konmi! A deck out effect could distrupt Chaos, but only if it's one of the next three cards. If you figure your going against a 40 card deck you have next to no chance of hitting Envoy of the Beginning, but if you remove all your oppents sources for bringing out Chaos, he's just dead weight in your oppents hand.

That's just a reworded Thestalos. And there are cards that make your oppent discard the top card of their deck, Gravekeepers Servant, Robbin' Goblin, and I think a Japanese card called Blood Sucker but I'm not sure.

In all truth, I think Konmi will go with a deck out (providing they don't revist a old idea like with Earth Monarch). But it would be so generous of them to create a Monarch that kicks Chaos in the chops.

That's all fine and dandy, but it doesn't fit the Monarch theme. First off the name doesn't fit, all Monarchs have ...the .... Monarch. I'll just assume you ment 2400/1000 ATK. But even the effect doesn't fit. All Monarchs help their masters control the field, either through stright destruction or prevention (Thestalos). Every single one of them. And yours doesn't really.

This isn't the first time we've heard of a take over effect though. Maybe it's because of the the large amounts of control arriving in TLM. But I can unoffically that any Monarchs made will not have a control effect. They'll have a effect that contributes to creating a stronghold over the field.

Anywho, i think the idea of a plant monarch is absurd. Wind....possibly...maybe, but not dark. Not a hope in hell. Sure plant needs support, but theres a time and a place. It's a great idea for a card. Don't get me wrong. But it's just not what a Monarch does. Monarchs have no time BANG effects. Linchen Stronghold's effect is just continious and keeps going. Other Monarchs happen and then there just big beat sticks perfect for tribute for the next Monarch.

1) Kaiser = Used as royal term in days past. Roman Spelling: Caesar. Pronunciation: Same.

2) It's the king/emperor/monarch/ruler/boss of Gliders. "Glider" can be interpreted in more than one way. It's more or less proclaiming itself as King of the Skies. Pretty fitting, considering that it kills opponents of equal strength without a hitch, and sends away whatever kills it off.

And don't get me started upon the Japanese name's interpretation - It'll cause heads to spin.

You proved nothing. You just spit out dribble about dragons living in space. Science fiction and anime are full of trees and plants living in space and the such. Who ever said dragons could survive in any envoronment anyway?

The whole Watapon and punching children in the nose is getting waaaay old. :rolleyes: If we were going by your definititions of things, then there's no way that a Dragon could ever be a Void Monarch, since dragons are reptiles (hatched from eggs, cold-blooded, etc.) and are therefore classified as living things. Dragons breathe! (Dragon's Breath, Breath of Fire, etc) Since dragons breathe, they would not be able to survive in a void, since in a void there is no air (think Outer Space with the whole vacuum thing). Machines would come closer to fulfilling the requirements than your dragons, since Machines don't need air, food, or water to survive. Dragons aren't so mighty, since even back in medieval myth and folklore, they were able to be destroyed by knights (a form of Warrior) and certain Machines (Sharp Crossbows, flaming trebuches, etc). Remember how easily the dragon from The Hobbit was taken down, and that was with one measley arrow... not to mention Dragonheart, Sleeping Beauty, Dragonslayer (80's movie), and Reign of Fire where tons of Dragons were taken down and defeated....



If there was a "Void Monarch", it could just as easily be a Wind monster, since Dimensional storms could be caused by a freak upsurgance of wind or are usually accompanied by a massive wind. If you inverse the pushing of the wind, you could just as easily create a Whirlpool or some other vortex that can create a "void", since Suction is the main force acting on the others.

And if I'm not mistaken, it's Machines that were always considered to try to rival God's power. Think about the overpopulation and misuse of Machina in FFX leading to the judgment of Sin, the revolt and oppression of humankind led by Machines and the Agents in The Matrix, and also all the wars in RPG's and real life fought over technology (Cold War, Nuclear bombs/missiles). Machines were always considered to be man's attempt to create artificial deitism. Machines can be used for good or evil, and be used to create voids (Time Machines, StarGate stuff, Dimension rifter, etc), so while Dragons are formidable in their own way, they are by no means the most powerful creature in existence. Here's hoping for a Dark Plant Monarch... it doesn't have to be a Void one, either.... ;)

1-A Dark Monarch could take over an opponent's monsters for one turn, perhaps. Enemy control is one area not yet covered by the Monarchs.
2-Removal from Play for 1-2 turns would work with the Wind Monarch, as the "Gale", or "Hurricane" would blow him away for a bit. And Loki, I'd be happy to deliver that grevious bodily harm any time..

Beyond the name and release date, nothing is known, but the name itself has sparked incredible speculation regarding the probably content, most of which is the usual unbridled wishful thinking due to the almost total lack of hard info.

for dark wat abt if it was a beast or beast-warrior? coz well it CAN suit dark and also it fits the requirement of lesser played sub-types monsters. In most mythologies gods and such were represented as humonoid beasts, take the egyptians, they had anubis as a dog-man god, also with the other gods the crocodile-man god thing...person :rolleyes:

i think that there will be two more monarchs, the wind then the dark. that would be cool. the franchise would like it too since people would want the new monarchs. i think there should be more cards like the monarchs, like in each set an ultra-rare god type thing. that would be cool. :)

I just thought, everyone is assuming that konami/UDE/whoever has some kind of logic or pattern behind the monarchs. What if there isn't any? What if they're just doing it because? Or until people lose interest? What if we'll NEVER know? :confused:

There are patterns behind everything. I just hope that Ultimate Dragon's is wrong. :p

That's my idea, but the one we were talking about before was Ultimate Dragon's. He says that since the 4 monarch's sub-types were the only 4 sub-types which were elements of nature that there will be no more monarchs.

Which brings us to the debate we were on before. If there was a wind and dark monarch, which sub-types would they be? The first 4 types were all of nature, but wind and dark don't have a natural one that corresponds to their attribute.

Really, i think they messed up. Zaborg should have been wind, then the light monarch could be a fairy, and the dark could be the polar opposite, fiend, or possibly zombie. On the other hand, this has little to no relevance to this topic, so feel free to ignore me. Dum dee dum dum doo.....

They should just make an AIR subtype....something they should have done a long time ago. Then they could eaisly make the Wind Monarch.

As for the Dark Monarch, they would have to make a subtype like "uhhh...Dark" and that is why I don't think there will be a Dark Monarch at all.

There is a slim chance for the Wind, and almost none for the Dark.

What am I talking about, UDE has let us down before, ofcoarse they will do it again!!!

well, here's my opinion.

they may do the whole element thing, they have water, fire and earth and they are gonna do a wind one in cyber revolution.
after that they can do a dark one to go with zaborg, and the dark one should be a lv 5 to go with zaborg as well, considering zaborg is the only monarch with lv 5 so far.

if they do do this then the dark one is going to have to have some downside to it like zaborg does. but i do think that it should have some sort of remove from the game effect to it like:

when this card is successfully tribute summoned remove 1 monster on the field from play.

this way it follows a pattern, element thing, and it corresponds to zaborg because he is the odd one out. and since it would correspond to zaborg, it has a effect like zaborgs but potentially better.

I think they screwed up making Zaborg the Light Monarch and not Wind. Thunder is a perfectly acceptable Wind sub-type.

Wind has to be the next monarch since we have been getting the Water, fire, earth monarchs 2th to 4th in tha sequence. So wind has to be the next which leads us to the Dark wich is last in the line of monarchs. Just like Gundams.
