As of recently, I have been trying to get into the DBZ card game. I have the rules and feel for the game down perfectly, but I am in the dark as to how to build a good deck. I also don't know much about the card pool. If anyone could give me starter deck lists and/or which one is best to start with based on overall playability, it would be most appreciated.

well there are hero and villian starter decks in dbz where you get a random hero or villian dependng on which one you get, and in the new GT ones (which i suggest geting) they are completely random except the battle simulator, it comes with a bunch of commons and uncommons and at least 2 rares and a foil, i usually get a foil rare, hope that helps and good luck, general rilldo is a good personality if you get him

Thanks for the suggestions. I just need to to confirm price ranges and how playable those types of decks are, not just their MPs.

there arent different deck types and they usually cost around 10 dollars, an usually the mp is the point of getting the deck, if im not mistaken

Are you saying that the only playable cards in the decks are their MPs?! If so, how do you get started with a decent deck without having to buy a ton of booster packs? Could someone please clarify this...

well alot of good cards could be in the GT starters since they are all random, but yes a Mp is almost always the point in buying a starter, but in dbz all the decks are the same except the 2 random rares the random foil and the random mp, you could look at other peoples decks and make ur own sort of replica buying or trading for singles, first find a mp that you like and find a deck type (ally, tokui waza, energy, physical, etc) my personall favorite is orange trunks saga mastery with a ton of energy and allies, but if you want to build a deck you have to know what you want, and then buy boosters if you dont know what you want to get some stuff to go off of, hope that helps

Every starter deck contains exactly the same cards except for those random ones? Thanks for the tips. Sorry for the excessive questions, but I am really in the dark about gettig the right deck to start out with. A run down of the satistics for each of the styles would be nice. The thing is, I still need to know if the starter decks can actually function. The idea I'm getting is that the decks suck except for the MP and random rares u get with them. Moire help is needed here...

well with gt cards they are random so you might get villian only cards with a hero or stuff like that, the dbz i think are more playable, but they still suck, as for which colors do what dont ask they switch way to often it isnt funny, i mean usuall blue lowers anger then they come out with a mastery that raises it, and orange was energy then they make one with drills and physicals, the only one that remained the basic same is saiyan, id go with saiyan goku or broly (good luck) from baby saga, i dont mind answering all these questions, i got nothin better to do

Without drills, an orange energy deck wouldn't do half as good as one with drills. Blue now changed to board control because there is no anger in GT. Think before you post. Everything isn't straight and simple.

You guys keep talking about the GT card game. From what I've heard, DBGT is a pretty different game and can't be compared to DBZ on every aspect. The people in my local area play DBZ, so I want to be able to get decks from that game. It seems to be very strange that the starter decks would be so bad. How do people get started in this game if you have to get all your cards from scratch in boosters? (I don't have much money to spend, so that's why a starter is one of my only options...).

You can get any card in a starter deck. It's like a pack in a box.

You can still have a lot of fun playing with just a starter deck to start with. Just play other people with low level decks. I am still looking for many cards for my deck, but I am just trying to trade now, buying is to expensive, but this site (pojo) has a great trading forum too.
