Steelix 100 HP
Stage 1 Steel Type (Evolves from Onix)
FCC Rage 10+
Does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter on Steelix.
SSCC Spinning Tail
Does 20 to each of your opponant's Pokemon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for benched Pokemon)
Weak: R
Resist: G-30
Retreat: CCCC
23/100 (R)
Rage is OK if used smartly. But you can just load the damage on with Spinning Tail. Plus using 3-4 steel energy on it will keep you safe for a while. Keeping 30-40 damage from hitting it. It's a very evil card when used right.
Steelix + Omastar (SS) is a great combo too. 20, 20, 20, to most evolved pokemon, switch, pulldown and knock out multiple at a time. and give the opponant some useless cards in their hands.

The current MeTa now is sending any Metal or Grass type Pokemon decks running in fear, as Blaziken is running rampant everywhere. Most of the winners were running BAR, BDR or BARD, that is Blaziken(RS. For power and primary attacker), Ampharos(Expedition. For atack, optional), Rayquaza ex(Dragon. Secondary attack) and Delcatty(RS. For drawpower).
So run a Water deck, like Kingdra ex maybe. But no. Why?
The next most popular would be Ampharos ex. Conductivity is a very good power in today's energy-intense envionment. And 70 on heads or Paralysis on tails is too good.
So how would your Steelix/Omastar fare against them? Steelix is weak to Fire, Omastar is weak to Lightning. Blaziken is weak to water. Ampharos ex is resistant to Metal.
Meaning if you happen to come up against an Amphy ex deck, it's most likely good game for your opponent. You can barely do anything to it with Steelix, and Omastar's Amphy fodder.
It's a good combo nevertheless... Try it out and tell us how it works. Perhaps it does.

well hey, Spinning Tail doesnt apply weakness/resistance for benched pokemon, so if Amphy is on the bench then it'll still get hit. And omastar can do 70 for just 4 energy *2 water is a must* Pretty nice. it'll knock out a blaziken in one hit. Heck all fire cards will be knocked out in one hit. *not Typhlo EX and upcomming Blaze EX*

I don't think most people put their Ampharos ex on their Bench. It doesn't need to sit back and be support with its power alone, like Slowking, Furret or Muk. It has a very good attack, doing 70 on heads and 40 + Paralysis on tails.
A possible way for you to counter an Ampharos ex is to devolve Steelix ( in some way) to Onix, and Rage with the damage you have on it to do a OHKO. Onix with 60(with a Strength Charm in Modified) or 70 damage can do that, although a little risky.
Scenario: You have a full health Steelix. Amphy ex attacks you and flips tails. You give Steelix a Potion, now it has 20 damage. Your opponent attacks again, and flips a head. Your Steelix has 90 damage. You attach Retro Energy to Steelix, discarding it healing 20. You Rage with Onix on 70 damage to do 160 to Amphy ex, KOing it. 2 Prizes for you. The risk? An Mareep, Flaafy or Electabuzz/ex KOs Onix(without a Resistance to Lightning, which is bad).
The thing about fire Pokemon(or Blaziken in that matter), I dropped that because I saw that, yeah, you have Omastar as a TecH against fire that Steelix is weak to. So it's safe.
And also, only 3 Energy on Omastar is required for a OHKO on Blaziken. And that's good.
