I need a little help figuring why all the common enemy deck at the pro tour are playing a few cards:

*4 drop FF Wolverrine
-shouldn't you be trying to play Doom turn 4

*6 drop Hulk
-shouldn't you be trying to play 6 drop Doom turn 6

*3 drop She Hulk
-I know you want to get FF characters on the field so you can Common Enemy, and that 3 drops are important in playing againstTNB but should you play purple man over her so you can waist their face down resources and then they cant use the ones from their hand because of Doom, and you could play ant-man if you dont have enough FF characters early on.

Another Question- What turns should you be playing borris?

Yes, and typically I see Invisible Woman at that slot instead of Wolverine. You can't always hit your Doom, so that is the next best thing.

*6 drop Hulk

No, 6 drop Doom is awful. You want 4 drop out as long as possible to prevent them from playing from their hands. Hulk, on the other hand, can be huge, and is a great beatstick in a beatdown/control deck.

Furthermore, replacing a character means you have 1 fewer character on the field.

Let's say it's turn 6, and I have 4 drop Doom and Thing Heavy Hitter out. If I play 6 drop Doom, I STILL only have 2 characters out. However, if I play Hulk, I now have 3 characters out.

Purple Man is the secondary drop. She Hulk over Purple Man because you want to hit Thing/Heavy Hitter on turn 5. Thing has loyalty, and thus, you need to have a F4 character out. If you play Purple Man as your primary 3 drop, then that means you HAVE to have hit your She Thing on turn 2, and the majority of the time, you will not be able to. Some reasons for this include the fact that Signal Flare has a threshold cost of 3, so it would be too late to play it to search for a turn 2 She-Thing. Thus, She Hulk gets the nod.

Another Question- What turns should you be playing borris?

As necessary. Definitely turn 1, when possible. Turn 5, if you miss your 5 drop...Replaying 4 drop Doom with a Boris isn't a bad idea. Turn 9 is another good time. Really, just as necessary.

Thx, that actually helped more than you think but a few questions,

What do you mean Purple man is a secondary drop?

And couldn't you succesfully play ant-man and purple man over she hulk.
That way if you dont get your she hulk turn two you'll probably get an ant-man and then turn 3 you can make your opp. activate one of their resources then do it again turn four, so when your Doom hits your opp. will try to set the plot twists they want to activate (because Doom wont let them activate them from their hand) and you can make them waist them.

Secondary as in you only recruit him if you're forced to. You'd rather go with She-Hulk on turn three. Thus, she is primary and he is secondary.

Look, I'm a big fan of Purple Man. Him+Doom+Latverian Embassy is practically game over. However, I'm not going to waste space in what's already a jam-packed 60 card deck on cards like Ant Man. Ant Man, while NOT BAD in his own right does not make the cut in a beat/control deck. I would consider playing him in a straight F4 beats, with something like Cosmic Radiation+Team Tactics...but not in this deck.

Furthermore, you're confusing me with the following statement: "That way if you dont get your she hulk turn two you'll probably get an ant-man" She-Hulk is a three, and I'm assuming you mean She-Thing, and if that is in fact what you mean, I'm not willing to go that route (personally) for the reason given above. No room for Ant Man.

Sorry about the confusing statement, and your right, their really isn't room for the ant-man in a CE deck.

No offense, but you should use quotes when quoting someone.\

One more Question?
Why did almost everyone at the pro circuit play 6 drop Doom ¿

Pro Circuit, the Pro Tour is a Magic the Gathering event.

He's there as a backup 6-drop, who can be searched for without discarding with Faces of Doom if you control a Doomstadt. You can also Reign of Terror on turn 6 if you've just played him, but he's not usually played when there's a 4-drop Doom in play (partly because next turn Thing Reigns your opponent's entire team).

There are occasions where 6 drop Doom works. If your opponent has no cards in hand, and a resource row full of face down cards, you might convince me to play out my 6 drop.

He does have a big body, and his effect can make a difference.

You don't always want to have to waste your Signal Flare on your 6 drop, when you might need it for your 7 or 8. Faces of Doom fills in nicely.

As for the quotes, you're probably right.

lol

And Thanks, that is a good reason to play 6 drop doom

One more question, whats wrong with Doom's Throne Room, it seems good, being able to thin out your signal flare and common enemy easier, but yet no one is playing it ¿

There's nothing wrong with Doom's Throne Room. I could see it played in competitive decks...it's just not. I really don't know why...lack of space, I suppose.

Still, hard to beat deck thinning.

I run a Doom's throne room in my common enemy deck and it works pretty well. I only run one though. there is no use of running more than one. any more and you waste space for the better stuff.
