I LOVE arcade games!!! They are probably my favorite "system" right now. Its too bad arcade games are becomming less popular because of consoles and online multiplayerability. But the thing that I love about arcade games is that it is so much more fun playing on a machine than on a console. The arcade cabinets have a big screen and speekers right above your head! They have cool joysticks and buttons and make you feel like your in the game. Playing for your quarter also makes your heart beat!
But what is most fun is playing against/with other people at the arcade. Its alot more fun playing with someone next to you than online. And when your at the arcade, anyone can challenge/play with you. Its also cheaper than paying for most online servers.
So what are your favorite arcade games?
Mine are Capcom vs SNK 2, Marvel vs Capcom, DDR, Samurai Shodown 4, and Dungeons & Dragons: Shadows Over Mysteria- "my favorite teamwork game"

Time Crisis 1, 2, and 3. Beat them all by myself in the arcades and on the systems.

My favorite arcade games would have to be Time Crisis 2, Time Crisis 3, House of the Dead, Silent Scope 3, Area 51, and I guess Crusin World. The best idea in my opinion in arcade games, is how you can take cover in the Time Crisis series. It was a great idea in my opinion.
Silent scope, super blastman, all the street fighter arcade games

I haven't been to an arcade in a LONG time. Back in the 90s, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter games were my favorite arcade games (also include Marvel vs. Stret Fight/Marvel vs. Capcom). I like Time Crisis. When I was younger, I once wasted a lot of money trying to finish The Lost World: Jurassic Park (my money didn't go to waste. I beat the game that day!). I always liked the House of the Dead games. I never beat part 1, I beat part 2 on Dreamcast, and last summer, I played part 3 with my little cousin. We didn't get a chance to beat it though. Dynamite Cop was another arcade game I liked. Though I eventually bought it for Dreamcast, I thought playing at the arcade was better. Power Stone 1 was fun, I got the second Power Stone for Dreamcast. Last but not least, Cruis' n World. That will always be my favorite arcade racing game. I first played that game at an arcade so many years ago. I always play that game when I go to an arcade.
Yep, arcades aren't as popular as they were in the 90s.
Edit: I can't believe I left out PacMan! I loved that game! It was one of the most popular arcade games.

I got high score several times!! :D Only because the owners unplug the machines at night, erasing the high scores.

King of Fighters is probably my favourite arcade game, although it's extremely hard to find. Apart from that, games like Time Crisis and DDR are always good ways to pass the time.

I got to play King of Fighters 2001, and it was fun. I find it very strange how King of Fighters is supposed to be SNK's biggest and most famous franchise, but hardly any MVS cabinets ever have King of Fighters games. It seems that Bubble Bobble and Metal Slug are much more popular.

Samurai Shodown 4 is the most popular arcade game at the comic store in my hometown. I played it a few times, it was fun but HARD!! I could usually only get to the 3rd level. I love the Japanese theme to that game, and the sword "clangs" are very memorable. It supposed to be a very strategic fighting game too.

However, that didn't stop SNK from hitting rock-bottom and having to sell the rights to a Korean company (Playmore if I'm not mistaken).
As for the subject on hand, my favourite arcade games are the Street Fighter EX series and the Street Fighter 3 series. Also, there was a decent game a while ago named Fighting Layer (developed by Arika [of Street Fighter EX fame] and published by Namco). Pity it never got popular and soon vanished from arcades. Other games that I used to play on occasions include: Star Gladiator 2 (Plasma Sword), Rival Schools, and Mark of the Wolves (which is the only SNK game I acknowledge as being decent).
