What do you think about Pokemon? Do you think it's as exciting or more exciting than ever? Or do you think it's getting old?
this should be posted in the pokemon movies/television fourm.

Yay, not nay! Pokemon never died- Yu-Gi-Oh was just born. I did get into Yu-Gi-Oh for a bit, but after a while it got boring. I first started to like Pokemon at around age 8 or so and I got into Yu-Gi-Oh at age 11. I'm 12 now and I've gotten back into Pokemon. The reason? I don't know. But I honestly think it's much better than being turned into power dueling zombies by Yu-Gi-Oh (ever notice that people think way too much of themselves after playing Yu-Gi-Oh?).

Er...this is an extremely stupid question. Obviously people in the Pokemon forum will say yea. (It's spelled yea and not yay, by the way. WHOA RHYME!)
Screw what society thinks about Pokemon. I still like it.

well, i dont play the card game/watch the show ne more, but I think it was good. Obviously it WAS good, but when you get older it no longer targets you. I played Silver on my color yesterday tho, kept me occupied for a while. :p

All the new ideas they've got going right now are interesting enough to set me in it (though I really prefer the older stuff). It's not old at all, it's just been around for more than a year so it's the 'cool' thing to like anymore...

i dont mind pokemon or yu-gi-oh, the only problem with pokemon is that ash gives away all his good pokemon, and the problem with yu-gi-oh is that the duels are too long, has a duel been less than one episode?

i do not think a duel has ever lasted for less than 2 eps, but i dont care aboout that. Its just playing up the suspense(like you cant tell wholl win anyway)
pokemon isnt really getting old, its just lasted a while.

I haven't watched that show for a while but I really think that there is getting to be too many pokemon I like the original 150. The newer pokemon aren't as cute the creater just isn't putting enought art into the pokemon. What a pitty :( The storyline just got annoying at leat YGO doesn't repeat the storyline every episode

Yu-gi-Oh didn't kill pokemon. It died out about a year before gold-silvebr for most people and they just buy the games. It is getting alittle better (the Jhoto region=suck for TV) but its slowly...I mean SLOWLY growing.yay
yeah, they just keep getting ugglier
i see your point Politoed.
ash: GO MICHAEL JACKSON!!!

If anything, Pokemon never technically "died". It started to sag when WotC delayed the release of Gym 1 after Rocket, that and the show was getting very repetative. But now that Nintendo has taken over the TCG license and, combined with a new interesting series and Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon has seemingly sprung from the dead. Its back above the #5 spot in the Top 10 Card Games, Ruby & Saphire got the #2 and #3 spots for Top Video Game release of 2003, and Pokemon Heroes got #3 kids video.
All things considered, we havent seen the end of Pokemon by a long shot. Pokemon Fire Red, Pokemon Leaf Green, and Pokemon Colloseum are just going to solidify itself more into the world and prove that its not just a fad.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is still popular, ranking in at the #2 Card Game, but I have an uneasy feeling thought that its not going to last alot longer unless the series, video games, or card games pulls something really nice out of thier hat.
Pokemon? Here to stay (the mini-Gundam if you will).
Yu-Gi-Oh!? Iffy, but Im not gonna say either way, as it may prove me wrong.

I beg to differ. A cartoon dies when no TV stations will play it and when demand gets extremely low for it. Things like Card Games and Toys DRASTICALLY effect the shows themselves (a prime example being Bucky O'Haire, which died due to ill-thought production manuevers for the toys). I wish they'd start playing oldschool shows like GI Joe, Transformers, Bucky O'Haire, Toxic Avengers, and other such shows, but its very unlikely that they will ever air again (another show I'd LOVE to see what the Sonic series that used to be on, not Sonic Underground or that new Anime or Sonic X, the ORIGINAL series with Princess Sally, Bunny, etc).
Cartoons DO die, memories dont (good luck finding ANY Bucky O'Haire VHS's).
