i play doom active mystical parylsis as part of a chain and flip it back face down that is legal correct ?

Yeah, Doom comes into play, his ability goes on the chain, you activate Mystical Paralysis, allow it to resolve, then allow Doom's ability to resolve, and turn down Mystical Paralysis.
