Well, here's Episode 13, and the conclusion of Kaiba's duel. Enjoy!
Episode 13: The Invincible Ghost Awakens!
“With my spell card, I can summon a powerful monster from my hand or deck. So say hello to Berserk Dragon (3500/0)!”
A large pentagram appeared in fire in the center of the field. Out of the pentagram rose a massive black dragon. Its razor sharp claws glinted in the flames as it bellowed a fierce screeching roar.
“My monster will devour you and send your soul to the deepest pits of the underworld!” Aknon said.
Kaiba simply smirked at Aknon’s statement with his trademark cynicism.
“The underworld, huh? Not if I have anything to say about it. Reveal trap card: Clone Duplication!”
One of Kaiba’s brown backed card holograms flipped up and out of it burst another Berserk Dragon.
“What have you done?!” Aknon exclaimed.
“My trap card creates a clone of any monster you summon. The clone has the exact same stats, type, attribute, and level as your Berserk Dragon. But the difference is the clone doesn’t share the effect, which, if I remember correctly, reduces your dragon’s attack power by 500 at the end of each of your turns. So my monster will stay strong, while yours will diminish in power.”
Aknon growled at Kaiba, who laughed at his situation. He grimly ended his turn, and his dragon’s attack power reduced by 500 points. Kaiba drew.
“Now, I’ll switch Vorse Raider to attack mode and use my Clone Berserk Dragon (3500/0) to attack your Berserk Dragon (3000/0)!”
The clone unleashed a powerful blast of its breath, which completely destroyed the original Berserk Dragon.
(Kaiba: 10800) (Aknon: 3300)
“Here’s some saving grace for you. When the original monster is destroyed, my clone must go with it, so you don’t have to worry about that…much,” Kaiba said as the Clone monster disappeared. “But Vorse Raider will attack you directly!”
The beast leaped up and came down on Aknon with its axe. The spirit screamed out in pain as the attack went through.
(Kaiba: 10800) (Aknon: 1400)
Kaiba’s heart was torn in half at the scene. It felt as if though he were attacking his own brother and it were Mokuba screaming out. But he quickly got over the feeling as Aknon recovered.
“You’re even more pathetic than I thought. I bet that even Joey Wheeler could beat you with ease, you weak fool. This whole duel has been a waste of my time, so I’m going to finish it soon enough. I’ll place a card face down and end my turn.”
Aknon drew, then, laughed maniacally as he looked at the card he held in his hand. He looked up at Kaiba and laughed even more. Kaiba grew aggravated.
“What’s so damn funny over there?!” he yelled.
“You,” Aknon replied, reverting to his grim nature. “This whole duel, I’ve led you like a rat through a maze, and you’ve put all the pieces in place. Thanks to your foolish assumptions about my skills, I can now summon the most powerful monster in my deck. This is the end. I activate The Devilish Séance!”
A large table rose out of the shadows. Spirits floated all around the flaming crystal ball on the table, chanting a strange mixture of hieratic and Japanese.
“I could only activate this card after two conditions were met: 1. My life points had to be lower than 2000, and 2. I had to remove four Dark monsters with a level equaling six or higher from my graveyard. Thanks to you, I have those conditions, so now I call forth The Infinity Ghost (3000/3200)!”
The souls of Despair from the Dark, Fushioh Richie, Berserk Dragon, and Ryu Kokki floated into the flaming crystal ball on the table. The ball glowed brightly, then, exploded in a flash of light and ghastly moaning. Kaiba covered his eyes to shield himself from the blast.
“What have you summoned?” he asked as he continued to cover his eyes.
The light died and Kaiba looked out onto the field. A large glowing orb surrounded by small blue spirit flames floated on the field. He looked at the monster’s stats.
“Your new monster is powerful, but it’s not as strong as your Berserk Dragon was, so how is it your most powerful?”
“Kaiba, you fool. Power isn’t always measured in attack points, and you’ll find that out soon enough. But for now, The Infinity Ghost will attack Vorse Raider!”
The orb charged up and unleashed a blast of energy that engulfed Kaiba’s Beast-Warrior.
(Kaiba: 9700) (Aknon: 1400)
“My turn is over. Let’s see you get out of this,” Aknon challenged.
“Your ghost is nothing to me, so pay attention as I take it down!” Kaiba declared as he pulled his next card. “I activate Pot of Greed, to draw two more cards from my deck.”
A large gruesome pot appeared on the field and pulled two cards from Kaiba’s deck, adding them to his hand.
“Next, I’ll flip over my two face down monsters, Y-Dragon Head (1500/1600) and Z-Metal Tank (1500/1300).”
The two face down holograms flipped up. A large yellow tank-like creature and a mechanical red dragon appeared on the field.
“Now, I summon X-Head Cannon (1800/1500) in attack mode,” Kaiba continued as he placed the card on the duel disk.
A tall yellow robot with large cannons on its shoulders materialized between Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank. It narrowed its mechanical yellow eyes and aimed its cannon barrels at Aknon.
“Now, go, my three monsters! Combine into one single, powerful being!” Kaiba commanded.
The three machine monsters began to transform and combine, Z-Metal Tank serving as the bottom, Y-Dragon Head in the torso and X-Head Cannon as the top.
“Now, you face the XYZ Dragon Cannon (2800/2600)! And his special effect will put your ghost out of business. I can discard one card from my hand to destroy one card on the field. And I’ll get rid of this card to destroy your Infinity Ghost!”
Kaiba slotted one card into his graveyard and the XYZ Dragon Cannon aimed its cannons at the ghost and fired a powerful blast of energy, incinerating the monster. Aknon laughed out again.
“Kaiba, you’re even more susceptible than I thought. Activate Trap card: Return of the Spirit. This card allows me to automatically summon my Infinity Ghost back from the graveyard after it’s destroyed during your turn. So welcome back to the world of the living my ghost,” Aknon said as the ghost came out of the graveyard.
“Why won’t you just lie down and admit defeat so my brother and I can get on with our lives?” Kaiba asked with frustration. Aknon laughed and pointed at his ghost.
“My Ghost’s abilities activate,” Aknon said as the monster grew in size. “First, when it’s revived from the graveyard, it gains 500 attack points. Second, when Return of the Spirit is on the field, I can revive one monster from either graveyard at the mere cost of a discard from my hand. So I’ll discard my Regenerating Mummy to revive your Kaiser Glider (2400/2200)!”
The blazing dragon reappeared on the field with a bright flash that lit up the shadows.
“However, when I activate this effect, you get to draw from your deck. But that is no serious matter,” Aknon said as Kaiba drew. Kaiba looked at the card he drew and glared at Aknon.
“I don’t know how, but I will find a way to take you down. But for now, I’ll just place this card face down and end my turn.”
“You’re all talk, fool. I’ll activate Offerings to the Doomed! This card destroys one monster, but I can’t draw next turn. Not that it will matter with my Ghost on the field. So now, say goodbye to XYZ Dragon Cannon!”
The machine was wrapped from top to bottom in bandages, then, dragged down into a fiery pit.
“Now, Infinity Ghost (3500/3200) and Kaiser Glider, attack his life points directly!”
The two monsters unleashed twin blasts of power that completely engulfed Kaiba in flames.
(Kaiba: 3800) (Aknon: 1400)
“You’re not so tough now, are you, ‘big brother’?” Aknon mocked.
Kaiba laughed as he staggered to his feet after the assault.
“You’re going to pay for that. You’ve triggered my trap card: Reward of Pain. This card allows me to draw one card for every 1000 life points that I lose. And since I lost 5900, I draw five,” the young CEO declared as he pulled the cards off the top of his deck.
“You can draw every card in your deck if you want. It won’t matter to my Ghost.”
“Are you done yet?” Kaiba asked impatiently.
“Don’t rush to your demise. I’ll place a monster in defense mode and end my turn.”
‘Ok. This hand isn’t going to help me right now. I need a miracle to win this. Deck, show me your power!’
Kaiba pulled the card off the top of the deck and looked at it.
‘This isn’t going to help me at all! How can I use this card to…’
Kaiba noticed another card in his hand, then, thought about the Infinity Ghost’s effect. A sly smile spread across his face.
“This is where I take your Ghost down. I’ll activate Monster Reborn, and I’ll revive Peten the Dark Clown (500/1200) in defense mode.”
The monster rose from the ground with a majestic bow, then, took its place in front of Kaiba. Aknon chuckled at the move.
“So you think that you are going to stop me with a clown, do you? Well you’re sadly mistaken.”
Kaiba continued, ignoring Aknon’s comment.
“Next, I’ll activate Punishing Revival. This card forces you to discard two cards from the top of your deck when a monster is summoned from either graveyard. So I hope you don’t have plans for bringing back a bunch of monsters. I’ll also set a card face down and end my turn.”
“That’s it? This is the best you could do? This fool thinks you’re one of the best duelists in the world. He learned everything from you, and I learned everything from him. You shall be your own downfall into the hellish pit. Kaiser Glider, destroy the clown!”
The monster charged up its attack and unleashed another blast. Kaiba laughed in an arrogant tone.
“I’d hate to inform you, but your monsters are about to get sick, real sick, because there’s a nasty virus going around. The Crush Card virus!”
Kaiba pressed an activation button and his face down hologram flipped up.
“This card can only be activated by sacrificing a dark monster with 1000 or less attack power. Every monster on the field and in your hand with an attack of 1500 or more is destroyed. And the effect will continue for three turns.”
Peten’s body shattered from the assault, unleashing spores into the air. Kaiser Glider groaned in agony as the spores entered it and destroyed it, along with the Infinity Ghost.
“Kaiba, you fool. Don’t you remember anything about my Ghost? It automatically comes back after being destroyed,” Aknon said as the Ghost reformed.
“Yes, and now comes the fun part.”
Holographic arms shot out from Kaiba’s Punishing Revival card and pulled the top two cards off of Aknon’s deck and placed them in the graveyard.
“Fine. I can afford to lose two cards at this point. You will still suffer.”
“Wrong. Apparently, you’re the one with the short memory, because my Crush Card is still in play,” Kaiba said as the spores destroyed the Ghost again.
Aknon looked on as the cycle of defeat began. The Ghost reformed, Kaiba’s card took two from Aknon’s deck, Kaiba drew, Crush Card destroyed the zombie again and it all continued in an unstoppable chain. Aknon screamed out.
“No! This can’t be! Stop!”
But it continued, until Aknon’s entire deck was in the graveyard. He sank to his knees and Kaiba crossed his arms.
“You have no cards left to play, which means you lose and I get my brother back.”
Aknon looked up at Kaiba and chuckled softly to himself.
“I guess I don’t get the pharaoh in this life either. Good show Kaiba. You’ve bested me and therefore have earned your brother’s body back.”
He said something in Egyptian before the shadows rose up over him, then, relented, leaving Mokuba’s body on the floor. The shadow dome disappeared and Joey stared at Kaiba.
“I see you’re walking away with your soul intact,” he said to Kaiba.
“Oh, I forgot you were here. Not that you’re worth remembering,” Kaiba replied in a harsh tone.
Joey clenched his fist and growled at Kaiba, who calmly bent over and picked Mokuba up.
“Relax, Wheeler. You’ll live longer if you do.”
Kaiba walked to the motorcycle and placed Mokuba on the back. He got on the bike and looked back at Joey, flashing him a superior grin as he rode off out of the warehouse, leaving Joey alone.
“Good riddance. I can’t stand him.”
Joey looked down at the Ring. Its pointer was still locked onto Serenity. The blonde duelist got up and walked out, on the search for his sister.

Yugi sat on the chair while Jason talked to his friend about some business. He couldn’t hear all of the conversation, but a few parts slipped into his ears.
“So, do you still have it?” Jason asked.
“Of course. I promised you that you would get it if I didn’t get a good enough offer for it,” the boy replied.
Yugi wondered what Jason and the other person were talking about as they walked into a back room. Yugi heard a door open and close, then, footsteps walking back to the room he was in. Jason and the other boy walked in.
“Thanks, Akira. You’re a lifesaver,” Jason said.
“What are friends for?” Akira asked in a laidback tone.
Jason looked at Yugi, who was trying to do his best to look like he didn’t hear any of the conversation.
“Alright. Let’s go, Yugi.”
Yugi got up, Jason gave Akira some kind of special handshake, and the two walked out of the house. The two walked for a minute before Yugi asked Jason a question.
“Jason, how do you suppose Seti Bakura escaped from the Shadow Realm?”
“I don’t think he was in the Shadow Realm to begin with, Yugi. No one escapes without a Millennium Item, or a body.”
The two continued on, but Seti was watching them, carefully planning each step of his vengeance.
‘Those fools really thought that I was gone for good, but they were wrong. And now my plan is coming together with the greatest of ease, and they don’t even know it.’
He closed the portal and walked over toward the chair. Finding a new place to stay wasn’t as hard as Seti thought it would be. It was just a matter of spilling a little more blood. He thought about where he would implement the final part of his plan. An idea hit him.
“Yes. That’s where it will take place. Now that I am ten times more powerful than I was before, getting there shouldn’t prove to be a problem. But, perhaps I should wait. The pharaoh and his friends have already defeated several of the spirits, but I don’t think they’ll be able to defeat you, now will they?”
“No, master Seti. I shall be the one who defeats the pharaoh,” came a voice from the darkness.
A tall, robed man stepped out from the shadows and bowed down, crossing his arms in a ceremonial fashion.
“Go, and find the pharaoh,” Seti ordered.
The man stepped back into the shadows and disappeared. Seti sat back in the chair.
“Yes, if things keep going the way they’re going, my plan will be complete in no time.”
He stood up and prepared for the final phases of his plan to plunge the world into darkness.
