I've basically been on a YGO hiatus since 2006 when I started college and have recently gotten back into the game at tail end of February. I first made Dark World, since I've always liked them and during my absence they had their own Structure Deck, and took it to a Madison, WI regional during the last week of the last format. Went 5-3 and ended up 24th out of about 200 which wasn't too bad since I had to read almost every card everyone played.

For this regional, I decided to go with Chaos Dragons. I build it right after the France YCS and played with it on DN to learn the ins and outs. This regional was the first time I played with the deck irl lol.

All of the Inzektor matches kinda blur together so I attribute my lack of detail on those to that.

Round 1: (Dark World)

Thought this was kind of funny since DW was the deck I was going to use but the guy had no side or extra deck or really knew how to play it.

Game 1: He did some stuff with Gates, I swarmed and easily took over.
Game 2: see game 1

I think the whole match took 10 minutes or so. It's fun to have an Eclipse Wyven and your opponent playes Dark World Dealings.

1-0

Round 2: (Appropriate Exodia)

Game 1: I had no idea what was going on but after a bunch of stalling I was able to win with a swarm I had amassed over a bunch of turns.
Game 2: After a few turns he ends out drawing like 30 cards in 1 turn for Exodia. I was kinda pissed since I had 3 MST, 3 Decree, 3 Lyla, and 3 Ryko and saw none of them to pop Appropriate.
Game 3: A whole bunch of stalling and I was able to keep Appropriate out of the game with Decree. At some point an Exodia piece hit the grave and I stole it using Inzektor Exa-Beetle :D. Towards the end I had about 7 cards left in my deck and he tried to mill me out by getting his Morphing Jar back to the top of his deck with Feather of a Phoenix and drawing it with One Day of Peace. Knowing what was set, I flipped my set Ryko to destroy the Jar and finished him off with a Five-Headed Dragon. Afterwards I realized he should have never lost that turn due to One Day of Peace. I have no idea if he could of stalled another turn to mill me out but I hate to get a win like that.

2-0

Round 3: (Inzektors)

Game 1: Dragons went smashy smashy
Game 2: The guy must of had a bad hand or something and I never saw a Hornet the entire game

3-0

Round 4: (Inzektors)

Game 1: The usual Dragon smash kinda thing
Game 2: He had a crazy good opening and I had a bunch of crap with no Veiler
Game 3: I was pretty much screwed at the end but I was able to bring out a Lightpulsar, Dark Hole the field, bring back a REDMD and revive the Lightpulsar for game.

4-0

Round 5: (Inzektors)

Game 1: I open Future Fusion, he looks at his hand and scoops. After the match he told me he opened a bunch of spell and trap that did nothing to help.
Game 2:He opens by setting 2 backrow and a TGU into Sangan. I open with the best hand I got all tourny! I MST a backrow, which was MST, play Lyla and pop the second set MST, drop the Future Fusion and in the end bring out BLS, DaD, Lightpulsar, and REDMD for the kill.

This entire match lasted about 5 minutes and 3 whole turns and I didn't learn that he was actually playing Inzektors until after the match

5-0

Round 6: (Inzektors)

I don't remember much about this match at all. It was your standard match with the Dragon swarm winning game 1, Inzektor shenanigans game 2 and more Dragon swarm game 3.

6-0

Round 7: (Samurai)

I watched this guy finish his last match so I knew what he was playing. Seemed like it would be easy to get over Shi-En and wreck him.

Game 1: He first turn Shi-En's, plays a backrow and passed. I look at my opening hand of 5x spell and a Card Trooper I think. I lived for a few turns and was able to bait Shi En's effect and swarmed with the help from a Monster Reborn and Future Fusion I had been holding since the beginning.
Game 2: Dragons controlled the whole game and Shi En was a non factor

7-0

Round 8: (Dino Rabbit)

I was kinda amazed that I had yet to play this deck or the mirror all day long

Game 1: He knows what I have and makes Dolkka early. After some Forbidden Lance shenanigans, I beat him down.
Game 2: Knowing he is going to side in Macro, I finally get to side in my Return from the Different Dimension. He opens with a Macro and chains it when I start my turn with Solar Recharge. Lyla makes quick work of the Macro after it had removed a REDMD and Tragoedia. The game grinds on for a while until I make a big push for game with Return during the Battle Phase bringing back Trag, REDMD, Sangan and Wyven to join my on field Lightpulsar. I ended up running over a Sanagn which he grabs Rabbit with and he survives the swarm due to a Fiendish Chain holding back REDMD. In Main Phase 2, I Dark Hole my 5 monster side of the field in order to search Veiler with Sangan to stop his Rabbit next turn and to trigger Lightpulsar. He drew for his next turn and conceded the match right there.

8-0

Top 8: (Inzektors from Round 5 or 6)

I was hoping this wouldn't happen but I ended up playing the same guy I beat in round 5/6.

Game 1: Dragons go rawr with the help from a topped BLS. I had game but the BLS made it easier
Game 2: Hornet, Dragonfly, Centipede work there magic and I can't survive even after toping a BLS again.
Game 3: The game goes on for a while and I have an opening to win unless he is holding a Veiler in his 2 card hand. I go for it, drop DaD and it gets Veilered :(. He ends up surviving since I can't pick off his field with DaD and Hornet wrecks me next turn.

8-1

Turns out this guy had won 4 invites already so I didn't feel too bad. I ended up with a nice Hanzo/White Dragon Ninja mat and a ORCS SE which I got a super Veiler out of and ULT Evolzar Solda out of.

Props:

-Being able to go 8-0 in swiss after being gone for so long and never playing the deck IRL before
-Pulling a super Veiler and a ghost Utopia Ray out of my entry packs
-Trading for a common Tragoedia right before the tourny started so I could actually play it
-Being able to play against some pretty cool people and not a bunch of weiners that get all pissed when they lose or get sacked hard (sorry round 5 guy!).

Slops:

-Round 2

How is trag working for you? It's a love hate kinda thing. Really nice early game but otherwise he/she/it sucks. I think I banished it for Allure of Darkness more times than actually summoning it.

I know how it is. My build is just like yours but I main the 3rd veiler. Everyone tells me to take him out, but then it wins me a game and I keep it in

Having them is nice but if I draw multiples that takes away from other cards I can be using to OTK with. I really don't care about Rabbit but when I play Inzektors one of the Ryko's comes out for the third Veiler usually.

Nice report! Btw Trag is good :) It's a love/hate Relationship. Thanks! I think it will be staying in for the time being.

haha i'm the guy from round 7... usually don't have bad match up against dragons but you gave me fitsI was waiting for this to happen lol. I honestly don't remember if my game 2 description is completely correct.

Howd the typhoons work for you mained?I like them. They are really nice if you use Lyla and they Warning it or something to protect another f/d card they have and they you drop the MST on it :)

game 2 what basically happened was I got a macro on the field and you summoned lyla and attacked into kagemusha and I forgot to Mirror Force... you probably had another out to macro though
