For the past couple of weeks I have been playing fun deck only to get squash in my locals. So I rebuild the hero build that has been giving me the most success.
Last week only 1-3 and the week before 2-2
So yeah yesterday I finish work and decided that there is still time to go to my locals. Decided to go and check to c which decks were in trend (saw alot of windups and inzektors.) Did some trades and having almost completely got my E-hero deck bling out (with the exception of gemmi Sparks (>.<)). Pay my entry fee and pull s**t from my turbo pack. Round starts and I get ready to play some Yu-gi-oh.
Round 1 E-Heros vs anti meta removal (W2-0, 1-0)
Pregame thoughts: know this guy he very chill dude. He is known to play some rouge decks.
G1: In the first half he keeps beating me down with DD survior with macro comos up (I down to 400 lp to his 6000). Eventually I rebound back with a mst and beat him down with double alius.
G2: In this match he never is able to keep a monster on the field since I either warning or tt his summons. Elemental Hero Ice Edge saves me and hits his Macro Cosmos, Skill Drain and Starlight Road (when he could have a chance to activate in response to save them except starlight). Eventually I get monster presence on the field and he can't recover.
Afterthoughts: Surprised that there is a anti meta deck with so much backrow hate. Looking around I c other decks that r also interesting including a ninja deck and six sams.
Round 2 E-heros vs windups (W 2-1, 2-0)
Pregame thoughts: Damn have to play one of my friends who I know is playing wind ups.
G1: I get the abosolute best hand that I can get to go against him. (E-call, Hero Blast, gemmi spark, tt, veiler and draw into super poly). Later in the game I superpoly my stratos and his zemaines into a nova master. He ss two wind up sharks but I Hero Blast one of them and he scoops when he see alius and miracle in hand
G2: I don't draw into my heros but get gozens match but he beats me down with two windup rabbits qq.
G3: I get almost the same identical hand in game one (with exception of a second veiler instead of tt. He at one point get three wind up factories and tries to use rat effect but veiler stops him. My novamaster and alius r doing work until he darkholes them. Later on he tries to get . He ends by setting one card on field. He has no hand and I use a Heavy Storm (even if he had Starlight Road he would lose to BLS) and summon my broken BLS to attack for game.
Afterthoughts: Well that went better than expected. My friend tells me that every other deck I play I don't get the "god draws" but whenever I play E-heros he says that it has never let me down lol.
Round 3 E-heros vs frog inzektors (W 2-0, 3-0)
Pregame thoughts: Damn another friend, he is known to play decks very well and is very strategic in them. He also defeated one of my other buddies (LFN and YGO) who was also playing a different type of hero deck.
G1: I have every out for his inzektors (with veilers and warnings). He tries to stall with double gachi gachi but Absolute zero and a well time levair to bring back my ice edge seals the deal as I take his monsters down one by one.
G2: Very similar to game one except he only got out one inzektor in hand which I veiler it. In the end though I get the same levair combo but with stratos to keep hand advantage.
Afterthoughts: We were both annoy by this guy who would try to tell me what to do (please I know how to play my hero deck) :mad:. I completely ignore him but it still irritating since he wouldn't take the hint.
Anyways I decided to watch the last match for this round or tournament. It was between my second opponent (wind-ups vs darkworlds). If wind up guy wins then the tournament is over (since there will be only 2 x-0) if not then it another round (with one person being pair down). Fortunately the wind up guy wins and the tournament is over. I get first place in the locals and get five packs. I wait until everyone else is finished with opening their packs. I open up my packs and only get a Yellow Gadget. yay I made my entry fee back. I talk with a couple of friends who were impressed with my deck. One of my friends is considering running hero beatdown at regionals (which is in April). All in All it was a good day.
