well, just kinda prepare ahead of time for an encounter (such has have a trapping/fast sleeper, and many ultra balls) and don't try hunting for it. I also tried hunting, and i never crossed it. So i finally quit, and i encountered it.

Well, I don't need to worry about trapping/ultra balls, because I saved my Master Ball for him. :) Am I correct in saying that Repels can't block poked of an equal to or higher level of ur lead poke? On some places, I heard that you can't encounter Latios until a certain amount of time after u see it on the tv. Is this true at all?

nah, i only saw it on tv once after you beat the game and go downstairs. Ur right about Repel, unless its a bug, in which case i think it repels some pokes about you lead poke as well. Ive heard that Latios mainly travels on the right side of Hoenn, near Lilycove and Fortree, so you may want to head there for a bit.

I wouldnt try that repel trick just incase. Latias was easy i surfed around a little bit and found him right under mosedeep. Now im looking for my latios.

i caught my latias in that really annoying route just left of pacifilog. i could'nt be bothered hunting for it, i just walked around catching pokemon and eventually i saw it. it gave me a helluva shock, though. suddenly appearing inbetween tentacools.....

Samethign with me and ruby. I was surfing around looking for placesto dive for shards and inbetween tentacools/wingulls latios appeared. Of course it took me 7 more encounters b4 i caught it because i used my masterball on groudon. :confused:

I caught latias on route 120 with my master ball,the same day I beat the champion.

Latas can only be found surfing while Latios is found on land. At first i was told latios could only be found in water and i wasted constant time looking for it then i read in a guide that it appears only on land so, that's where you can find it and i found mine on route 120, like many others. Definelty stock up on max repels and what i did (since i was working on the pokedex anywayz) was carried a golbat with me and it evolved to crobat at like lv. 40 and it worked well but i think an even better poke to use is Sableye because of it's psychic resistance.
Now this is what i was forced to do because i used master ball on Groudon: Had a mean-look Crobat first slot, a Hypnosis Gardevoir in my party, encounter Latios, Mean look, battle until HP is low, Latios will eventually kill Crobat but Confuse Ray stalls and damages. When it died, I threw in Gardevoir and Hypnosis, it ran away of course but when i met it again, it's hp would be low and it would be asleep so I'd just mean-look and pelt ultraballs and i had to repeat this process like 4 times and it was a pain but it's well worth it and my advice is save your master ball no matter what!
P.S. maybe timer balls will revolutionize the lati@s capturing process, mean look, paralyze/whatever, confuse ray, attract, etc. timer ball!

I hope you're not trying to catch Latios and Latias in the same version, as you can only get the other bird by using the Eon ticket to go to Southern Island. Latios wont be found in the wild. Also, I found my Latios while surfing... :)

i only look in the water since i first discovered it for myself without anyone telling me. And i am using Ru/Sa Not just one version.
