I'm not completely familiar with the official rules for tag-team dueling, but my friends and I have been tag-dueling for years with our very own set of tag rules. I thought I would finally share here and see what you all think.
Rules:
1. Teammates sit across from each other and can not tell each other what cards they have.
2. During the end phase, a teammate can "pass" a monster card that has not attacked or used an effect during that turn to his or her teammate.
3. If a passed monster is destroyed, it goes to the card owner's graveyard.
4. Both teams start with 20,000 LP.
5. If a monster exists on either of your opponent's sides of the field, you must attack it before you can attack lifepoints directly.
6. Decks are still limited to between 40-60 cards.
* Cannot have decks of the same theme. For example, both players on a team cannot be Six Samurai. (This is more of an Honor Code Rule)
This is the basic gist of it. Some other interesting things are decided on a case-by-case basis. We play by the Advanced format TCG ban-list and always defer to official rulings when we can. We have been playing this way for years and it is very entertaining for us.
If this thread generates any interest, I will hopefully be able to ask opinions on some strategy related questions.
Not really certain which forum this should go in :)
