Does Bushiroad have any of their own tournament software? If not, would anybody be able to guide me to a simple free tournament software program?

Well, I can confirm that there is no official software. I will look for alternative software and post it if no one does it before me.

http://www.tournamentpilot.com/ - Interesting online tournament builder. I'll put up a screenshot soon.

You can use challonge for building tournaments..it's quite simple and popular (mostly I used him for YGO)
PS: Who and when will be organized an online Vanguard tournament on pojo?

I saw Challonge as well, but it didn't seem to have a swiss option.

if and when someone agrees on one and finds a suitable one, maybe we could organize and online pojo tournies, with prizes and entry fees

we've have to set a rules and such
but with an entry fee it would be an easy way to get product, i see a hell of a lot of people doing what i did in the trade forum
have other card game
want vanguard

lol

bushiroad has no official software. they also do strength of schedule for pairings and ranking thats different from how at least the WOTC software works. though for small local things it shouldnt matter much with 16 or less players.

Strength of Schedule?

it is how many wins dose each of the people i play against have; not just win against.

eg how bushi dose it for final standing s

1st determining factor: number of wins you have
2nd: number of wins all the people you played had, everyone is at least worth 1
3rd: number of wins your opponents opponents had min 1
4th: if your still tied for that play a best of one to break the tie

Isn't that what Tie-Breakers are for?

strength of schedule is bushi's tie breakers if its tied down to op's ops then its a pretty large game or there was a lot of rock paper scissor winnings, or drops and stuff, in a normal 8-16 person its almost never a problem. but bushi dosnt use tie breakers

I'm really surprised that pairings are based on things other than random distribution between the same # of points (with random pair-downs or pair-ups). Do you know if it's the best plays the worst (or second to worst) or if they play the next best? Seems unfair that the people that happened to have slightly better tiebreakers get apparently easier or harder matches.

Isn't the SOS the same tiebreakers as in other games? I forget if it's MTG or YGO but I remember T1 used to be based on the # of wins of the people you beat, #2 was based on the # of wins the people they beat beat, and the #3 was the based on the # of wins the people who the people you beat beat beat.
