*Turns and waves*
Oh! Hello there. I see you've found your way to the CardFight!! Vanguard Forums.
I'm sure you're thinking,
"What is this I don't even...".
Well, its the newest TCG coming from producer BUSHIROAD. Its the next sensation, blazing across the nation!
CardFight!! Vanguard, referred to as CFV from now on, is a SUPER TCG if you will. It uses aspects from highly successful predecessors to make a fun, fast paced, excellent, and exciting new card game. Its not crippled by an overly restrictive meta. Its cheap, and its growing like crazy, with 6 full size boosters already released in a matter of months. It has a popular manga and anime that follow along with it.
"How is this like YGO?", you may ask? Well, there are many mechanics that would be all to familiar with any YGO player. These similarities would allow you to easily get into the card game without having to learn a lot of difficult mechanics and play styles.
First we have the start of the game. You draw 5 cards just like Ygo. Whoever wins the dice roll, goes first, much like you would WANT to do in YGO. Player one draws first, but cannot attack, exactly like YGO. Player two also draws, and that's when attacks can start.
Another similar thing, that was previously unique to YGO, is the MASSIVE amount of damage you can see. Really larger numbers with this game. I don't know if you've ever played against or with a Jinzo returner deck, but seeing 30k damage in one turn in not uncommon. CFV is all to similar. While its just strength and not damage, you do regularly see numbers like 10-20k. The Other day I attacked with a 32k Grade 3 Vanguard, unboosted or buffed.
Another thing is the pace of the game. I've always found YGO to be fast paced and explosive, at least in the competitive department. This game seems similar to me. It is fast paced, once you know what your doing. Battle seems quick but efficient. Its epic and has a lot of OMG moments.
One thing to add to those omg moments, are cards that drop from the hand. Things Like honest, Kalut, kuriboh, and battle fader. CFV turns like every card in your hand into an honest. During the battle phase, you can drop guardians that add to your defense against attacks, making the game fun, explosive, and not a one sided battle. There is always the chance to come back.
CFV is a really fun game, and with its similarities to YGO you should easily be able to get into it. Its fun, and definitely worth a try. You can find plenty of more information about the game in these forums. Take a look in these forums, dl the Duel Network like game, Cardfight Capital via Byond. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Thanks for reading and thanks for your time. Hope to see you around CFV some time.
