The Surge of Thunder King

"Summon T-King, set 4, end turn." Is a more common then not play among stun players for formats past and present. Thunder King Rai-Oh is in many duelist's opinion not a card you want to see on the other side of the field first draw. But it also is a favorite among all duelists weither you are stun or combo. Everyone just cant get enough of the good ol' TKRO. But it isn't just his beefy attack power and fearsome look that makes duelists favor him, it's much, much more!

Rai-Oh Jolt! "No Searchy Searchy!"

Thunder King Rai-Oh isn't just loved for his amazing 1900 attack power, because in this day and age of the game we can't rely on beat power. But on the other hand it isn't something we should totally give up on. At a solid 1900 boy Rai-Oh pack a wallop with his attack and effect. His first effect being that neither player can add cards from their deck to their hand, now many people don't know this but they are able to activate the Pot of Duality or Sangan's effect because Rai-Oh doesn't say you can't play cards that search, he just says you can't search. So in the end you can activate the card you won't get the search so you will effectivly burn a card -Good Job Bro!- So in essence it is in fact the pressence of Thunder King that makes him so despised by duelists everywhere when used against them. Especially T.G. duelists, even though most T.G. stun variants play him (Considering they are stun decks you can't really play one with out TKRO) This makes Thunder King such a viable card this format as many deck do alot of searching through effects and Rai Oh will shut them down.

He is not the Highlander!

Look most duelists who are either frustrated with the game or who are just ***** go into an automatic scoop phase when they see a Thunder King drop turn one, because they'll look at their own hand and say to themselves "Well there's **** I can do" and say "Game 2?" but now most smart players are playing Rai-Oh hate cards MAINNED! most of th time hate cards are reserved for the side but not for this MoFo Rai-Oh deserves main decked hate, such as Forbidden Lance and Smashing Ground! And more popularly Thunder Kings are getting D-Prisionned likes its not even funny! So don't worry Rai-Oh is not the highlander you CAN chop his head off!

Rai-Oh Zap! Inherant and non-inherant Special Summon O_o OMG r u srs?

Ok for those of you who don't know Inherant special summons are special summons that occur when something (A monster) special summons himself, then you are able to use Rai-Oh's effect to send himself to negate it. Whereas Non-Inherant special summons are special summons where a seperate card special summons a monster such as Monster Reborn and Call Of The Haunted (Get it yet?.....It's ok I know it is confusing. -_-' ) This make the T-King a good defense against sychro (Because they are Inherant) so you drop Rai-Oh and good news they might have to burn a sychro or xyz (xyz same concept as synchro both inherant) But there is one problem to this effect though, Rai-Oh has to send himself to the graveyard to use it. It isn't a tribute effect it is a send effect. Many players see this effect on cards like Maxx C and try to find ways to get around it so they started tinckering with Dimensional Fissure a card thaqt removes all monsters from play so you can't "Send to the Graveyard" to use those effect.

Conclusion

Thunder King Rai Oh is a great card, but if he is used against you and believe me he will be try either siding or mainning some of the mentionned cards to help get around him, remember help stop the surge of Thunder King! He can be killed all you have to do is try!

Ok 1st off this sounds an awful log like decsilentenigmas video about rai-oh.

But anyway you cant activate duality or Charge of the Light Brigade while tkro is face up, because a player cannot activate a card that you know wont resolve

A player CANNOT activate the effect of Pot of Duality while Thunder King Rai-Oh is face-up on the field.

Get your facts straight.

This thread is pointless. Looks like you just posted what we know about the card already.

Also, by your definition, TKRO would be able to negate Gorz, Tragoedia, and such. It's not Special Summons that occur by other cards, but by a card's effect, even the monster's own.
