Got a bunch of cards recently, and was wondering if anyone can explain the rules for Side Deck and swapping cards with Main Deck. Also, when you play energy it's random correct? You take the top card of your side deck?

Got a bunch of cards recently, and was wondering if anyone can explain the rules for Side Deck and swapping cards with Main Deck. On your guardian, it tells you the amount of each energy that your allowed to have in your side deck. Example: Ichigo Kurosaki has 4 mind energy , 8 body energy , 8 spirit energy. That means you can't have no more then 4 mind, 8 body, and 8 spirit energy cards in your side deck.
You can put other cards that aren't energy cards in your side deck ( characters, battle grounds, items, etc.) But for each card you put in you have to take out 1 energy card.
Also, when you play energy it's random correct? You take the top card of your side deck?
No, after the draw phase, you get to choose 1 energy card from your side deck to play or draw another card from your main deck. You are allowed to do this twice during your turn.

Ah, so you do choose which energy you put into play, it's not random. So if I need 2 Body, and I just get 2 Body. So how does that interact with cards that are not energy? Are they basically a side board like in Magic? So between games 2/3 you can swap out cards with the cards from you side deck?
